Contemporary Elizabethan Collar Necklace - Wild Fashion in Wearable Art
The Elizabethan ruff is a fashion worn in the 16th and 17th centuries by men, women and children. Today's fashion in wearable art often draws from history. This modern visualization is created with a series of colored polymer rectangles of green, orange, blue and stripes of those colors. When viewed on edge a ruffled texture is implied. Round hand-formed beads (made from the striped canes) flank each side of the ruffle to fasten with a lobster clasp. The 18 inch necklace lies comfortably just below the collar bone.
